What’s on for Families in Grimsby & Cleethorpes – Week 5 of the Summer Holidays 2023

The summer holidays are drawing to a close but there’s still plenty to do! We’ve got a full list of Grimsby and Cleethorpes summer fun below, so keep reading to get to the good stuff!

Monday 21st August

Craft Challenge

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, Kingsway, Cleethorpes – 1:00-5:00pm – ages 6+

Work as a team to create different items and test their endurance. Previous events have included building a bridge and testing its strength, creating parachutes for our egg drop challenge and creating artwork to be displayed in our centres.

Tuesday 22nd August

Wet and Wild

King George V Stadium – 10am-3pm – ages 7-12

Bring a towel and a change of clothes because you are about to get WET! Expect wet and wild games including capture the flag, parkour, dodgeball, don’t spill and plenty of others.

Family Biscuit Decorating

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre – 10:30 am – 11:30 am – suitable for kids up to age 12

A fab family session with different themes each week. Take part in crafts and activities and have a cuppa while you join in (tea or coffee for adults and juice for the kids). Perfect for kids under 12 and adult supervision is need.

Messy Play Market Rased – Dinosaur Detectives

It’s time to get messy with a BRAND NEW theme – Dinosaur Detectives!

Learn the latest TikTok dances, movie dances and other popular dances with these themed dance workshops. Energetic instructors are on hand to teach fun street dance skills.

Thursday 24th August

Little Lincs & Friends Play

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre – 9:30 am – 11:30 am – ages 0-13 years

The classic Little Lincs session for 0-5 years, with added activities for the older siblings (up to ages 13 years) and fun for all the family. Featuring soft play, messy play, sing time and crafts corner. Please note that the bouncy castle won’t be running at this session.

Creative Arts & Glow

Friday 25th August

One to One Cycle Coaching

Bradley Football Development Centre – 9am – 12:30pm – ages 6-11 years

One hour slots for either a Learn to Ride session or Cycling Confidence session, where our qualified coaches will help children learn how to ride a bike.

All Star Games

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre – 10am – 3pm – ages 5-12

Join in with a variety of games including dodgeball, cricket, football, tag games, frisbee and tonnes more.

Glow Disco & Skate

Grimsby Health and Wellbeing Centre – 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm – ages 5-12

Fun glow disco followed by a family skate session. – details below:

  • 1pm to 3:30pm – fully supervised Glow Disco.
  • 3:30pm to 5pm – fully supervised skate session.

Parents have a choice of coming to the family skate at 3:30pm to spectate or join in – chargeable as per normal rates: £3.60 per person, £1.10 skate hire. Or £1.10 to spectate only.

Junior / Family Badminton

Health & Wellbeing Centre, Cromwell Road, Grimsby – 5:30-7:30

A Junior / Family Badminton session for ages 6+ led by qualified coaches. Adults can pay and play as part of the family.

Aqua Disco

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, Kingsway, Cleethorpes – 6:30-8:00

Swimming with waves, slide and disco music. Under eights must be accompanied by an adult. For the safety of our customers our adult to child ratio is one adult per two children under eight.

Members and non-members can buy tickets 7 days in advance in person, in the centre, or turn up on the night but advance tickets are not available online or by phone.

There’s usually a huge queue on the night for the aqua disco, so it’s worth buying tickets in advance.

All customers need a Lincs Inspire card to attend but it’s free to sign up.

Price: pay as you go £5.30, Subscription members £1.

Aikido – Martial Arts

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, Kingsway, Cleethorpes – 7:30-9:30

Aikido is a martial arts derived from Japan founded by O’Sensei Morihei Ueshiba around the 1920s. Since then, it has developed into various styles and forms. Aikido involves projections, pins and locks starting from various attacks, with or without weapons. Aikido provides a good base for self defence, posture and fitness.

All are welcome, aged 12 and above.

Summer Fair at The Ugly Duckling

Caistor Lakes – 12-4 – all welcome

Caistor Lakes is hosting their first ever summer fair! Head down and show your support and check out some cool local businesses too!

Pear Tree Summer Fair

Pear Tree- 12-6 – everyone welcome.

Micky and Minnie Mouse will be making an appearance, along with their friends from the Paw Patrol. Expect to see a bouncy castle, craft stalls, gift stalls, face painting and glitter tattoos too.

You could even have a go on the raffle & tombola, or see what the future holds by getting a reading from a psychic. Perhaps visit the psychic before getting your raffle tickets though, eh?
