The summer holidays are finally here, but what’s on in Grimsby and Cleethorpes for kids? Luckily, there’s tonnes to do in the local area over the next six weeks – so much that it doesn’t all fit in one list.

Monday 24th July

Little Lincs Craft & Messy Play

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre – 9:30-10:30 – ages 0-5 years

Crafts, messy play and reading corner. Tickets available 7 days in advance in site or over the phone (payment required at the time of booking). (01472) 323200. Not bookable online. A child-led session with some adult-led singing. Adults must supervise the children during the session.

Craft Challenge

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, Kingsway, Cleethorpes – 1:00-5:00pm – ages 6+

Work as a team to create different items and test their endurance. Previous events have included building a bridge and testing its strength, creating parachutes for our egg drop challenge and creating artwork to be displayed in our centres.

Price: £16 + booking fee

Inflatable Session (Deep Water)

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre – 6:30 – 7:45 pm

Slide and inflatable session – the inflatable is in the deep end of the pool so this sessions is for competent swimmers.

Under eights must be accompanied by an adult, maximum ratio is one adult per two children under eight.

All attendees need a Lincs Inspire card but it’s free to register.

Price: £5.30 per person

Junior Fencing

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, Kingsway, Cleethorpes – 7pm- 8pm, ages 8+

Fencing is the sport of fighting with swords, especially foils, epees or sabres according to a set of rules in order to score points against an opponent. The session can be adapted for wheelchair users.

Little Readers

Little Readers is a free drop-in session run by Lincs Inspire Libraries for pre-schoolers which offers play, stories, songs and a craft. No booking needed but capacity is limited.

Dance Workshop

Grimsby Health and Wellbeing Centre – 10am – 3pm – ages 7-15

Learn the latest TikTok dances, movie dances and other popular dances with these themed dance workshops. Energetic instructors are on hand to teach fun street dance skills.

Little Lincs Football

Bradley Football Development Centre – 11:00 am – 11:45 am – ages 2-3 years

This session takes a fun approach to teach preschoolers the fundamentals of football.  Parents / carers involvement is needed to help and support during the session, providing a great opportunity to enjoy being active together. No need to book – just turn up.

Mixed Fencing (Ages 12+)

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre – 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm – ages 12+

Fencing is the sport of fighting with swords, especially foils, epees or sabres according to a set of rules in order to score points against an opponent. This session is a mixed group, ages 12 years upwards, which can be adapted for wheelchair users. This session is provided by Cleethorpes Fencing Academy in partnership with Lincs Inspire. Grimsby Health and Wellbeing Centre – 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm – ages 5-12

Fun glow disco followed by a family skate session. – details below:

Little Lincs Family Roller Skate

Grimsby Health & Wellbeing Centre – 3:30-5:00 – for children under 12

Fun family roller skating session for kids under the age of 12. Children need to be accompanied by an adult, but that’s fine because skating is super fun!

Book ahead up to 7 days in advance by calling into the centre (booking ahead is advised since it gets quite busy). Everyone who attends needs a Lincs Inspire card but it’s free to sign up.

Family Fun Under The Sea Crafts

Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre – 1pm-2pm – ages 2-11years

Fishy fun with an under-the-sea theme family craft event run by the Creation Station. Make some beautiful art to take home and have a WHALE of a time!

Aqua Disco

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, Kingsway, Cleethorpes – 6:30-8:00

Swimming with waves, slide and disco music. Under eights must be accompanied by an adult. For the safety of our customers our adult to child ratio is one adult per two children under eight.

Members and non-members can buy tickets 7 days in advance in person, in the centre, or turn up on the night but advance tickets are not available online or by phone.

There’s usually a huge queue on the night for the aqua disco, so it’s worth buying tickets in advance.

All customers need a Lincs Inspire card to attend but it’s free to sign up.

Price: pay as you go £5.30, Subscription members £1.

Aikido – Martial Arts

Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, Kingsway, Cleethorpes – 7:30-9:30

Aikido is a martial arts derived from Japan founded by O’Sensei Morihei Ueshiba around the 1920s. Since then, it has developed into various styles and forms. Aikido involves projections, pins and locks starting from various attacks, with or without weapons. Aikido provides a good base for self defence, posture and fitness.

All are welcome, aged 12 and above.

Inflatable run in the shallow end of the pool for smaller children (under the height of 130cm) and those wearing swim aids.

Wildlife Day

Water’s Edge Country Park, Barton – 10am – 4pm – everyone welcome.

Wildlife Day is returning to the Water’s Edge visitors centre in the Silver Birch picnic area in front of the centre.
Expect to seeLion Learners, Alpacas and friends, fantastic faces, pentangle pottery, Birds of prey, Woodcarving demonstrations, plus many more. As well as other outdoor nature activities including: Pond dipping and wildflower wands.🌷
