Cleethorpes International Market – Here’s What’s Going On

Cleethorpes International Market is an event to add to your calendar. It’s already started and is running until the 6th of August, so don’t miss it!

As expected, there are tonnes of tasty treats alongside other gift and jewellery stalls that are well worth a browse.

We headed down on its first day to see what was going on. My best advice would be to line your pockets (or blindfold your kids) because everything looks ace and it’s easy to burn through the cash.

I spent £11 on four ((4!) pieces of fudge then didn’t even get to eat it because it was snaffled by the family. So stay alert. If you drop a pretty penny on some treats, make sure you get a taste!

Where is the International Market in Cleethorpes?

Cleethorpes International Market – Between Brighton Slipway and Cleethorpes Leisure Centre

Cleethorpes International market is easy to spot down the bit of the prom between Brighton Slipway and Cleethorpes Leisure Centre. You won’t miss it, you’ll spot the stalls and all the delighted people looking at them.

If you’re not familiar with the area, it’s the bit of the prom that you can’t park on. It’s pedestrianised so you’ll be fine with a pram or a wheelchair down there. We spotted some disgruntled cyclists when it first opened on the Friday, but hopefully by the time you attend, they’ll have realised that the cycle lane has been temporarily repurposed.

Where Can You Park for Cleethorpes International Market?

The obvious place to park is one of the parking spaces down the prom. The only trouble is, they’ll fill up quite quickly so you might not get a spot. The parking spaces on the prom do go right up to wonderland, which is the other end of the promenade, so make sure you’re comfortable walking if you park that far away.

The residential roads nearby tend to fill up with residents, so I wouldn’t even try. If you’re open to walking a little way, there is plenty of parking in the car park next to Boots in St. Peter’s Avenue. There’s also another car park not too far from the prom on Wardall Street (which is sort of behind Sea View Street if you’re having trouble picturing the area).

What Kind of Stalls Will Be There?

Cookie stalls

There are a mix of stalls, but from what I saw the majority leans towards food and drink. Expect to see a variety of cuisines, sweet treats and drinks.

Lots of different street food was on offer including Chinese, Indian, Greek, Caribbean, pizza, seafood, paella, hot dogs, burgers and loads more.

When it comes to puddings and sweet treats, there were plenty of options too – including cheesecakes, brownies, cookies, sweets, fudge, and I’m sure I’m forgetting a few!

fudge
Yes, this is the £11 fudge that I’m told was worth every penny but I didn’t get to try.

The non-food stalls also sold a variety of things. I spotted clothing, jewellery, garden accessories and sunglasses and handbags among others.

There really is something for everyone so it’s well worth heading down.

Is the Cleethorpes International Market Expensive?

price boards for the food

Even though I keep complaining about the price of the fudge, I’m mostly joking. These people have got to make a living and it’s a special treat to buy stuff from a visiting market.

I honestly think the prices are about right and generally as expected. The only thing I will say is that everything looks so good, so it might be easy to spend a lot of money because everything is so very tempting!

I’ve snapped some menus with the prices on in the photo above to give you an idea of what to expect.

Photos of The Food

This is just a photo dump of some of the food that I spotted. It all looked delicious and I took a couple of snaps of what was on offer. I ate Chinese street food from the Wok Man stall, my husband had Indian street food an the kids had a super long hot dog each. I took no photos of the food we all ate because everyone was too eager to start munching!
